Schuur en Nieuwe Vide presenteren samen The Queer Image: een intersectioneel interdisciplinair filmprogramma met een queer feministisch karakter. Samen kiezen we een film rond thema’s die spelen in de gemeenschap. Films waarin lhbtiq+’ers en vrouwen niet gemarginaliseerd worden of slachtoffer zijn, maar juist hun stem laten horen en in de spotlight staan.
Bij iedere vertoning nodigt Nieuwe Vide een maker uit, die geïnspireerd op de thema’s van de film een visueel werk presenteert. Denk aan performancekunst, videokunst, of een artist talk. Ook organiseren we bij iedere film een inleiding of nagesprek en nodigen we je uit om in het Schuurcafé na te borrelen en leden van de gemeenschap en de makers te ontmoeten.
Op maandag 2 december draaien we All Shall Be Well, voorafgegaan door Declaring my Multitudes van Marijn Kuijper, en gevolgd door een gesprek in ons café.
Nieuwe Vide’s Choice
Declaring my Multitudes (2023) is een dagboekachtig werk dat liefde, familie, queer identiteit en “belonging” onderzoekt. Marijn reflecteert op het navigeren door het leven als queer ouder, transpersoon en iemand met meerdere geliefden, terwijl hen de vraag stelt hoe we onszelf aan de wereld presenteren.
Over de kunstenaar:
Marijn Kuijper (die/diens/hen/hun) onderzoekt thema’s zoals het navigeren door het patriarchaat als queer persoon, trans zijn en leven in een non-conform gezin. Marijn daagt maatschappelijke normen rond relaties, familie en lichamelijke autonomie uit.
Hen studeerde in 2018 af aan de Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten en ontving in 2021/2022 de Kunstenaars Start beurs van het Mondriaan Fonds.
Schuur’s Choice
All Shall Be Well (2023) is een ontroerende film over liefde, verlies en veerkracht. Angie en Pat, een stel van 60 jaar, staan voor de uitdagingen van rouw en acceptatie wanneer Pat plotseling komt te overlijden.

Schuur and Nieuwe Vide jointly present The Queer Image: an intersectional interdisciplinary film program with a queer feminist character. Together we choose a film around themes that play a role in the community. Films in which LGBTQIA people and women are not marginalized or victims, but rather make their voices heard and are in the spotlight.
At each edition, Nieuwe Vide couples a visual artist whose work connects to the themes of the film. Think performance art, video art, or an artist talk. We also organize an introduction or post-screening discussion with every film and invite you to have a drink in the Schuur Café after the screening and meet members of the community and makers.
On Monday December 2 we will play All Shall Be Well, preceded by Declaring my Multitudes by Marijn Kuijper, and followed by a conversation in our café.

Declaring my Multitudes (2023) is a diary-like work that explores love, family, queer identity, and belonging. Marijn reflects on navigating life as a queer parent, a trans person, and someone with multiple lovers, while questioning how we present ourselves to the world..
About the artist
Marijn Kuijper (they/them) is a visual artist whose work is rooted in their personal life. They explore themes like navigating the patriarchy as a queer person, being a trans person, and living in a non-conforming family. Marijn challenges societal norms around relationships, family, and bodily autonomy. They graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in 2018 and received the Artist Start Grant in 2021/2022.
Schuur’s Choice
All Shall Be Well (2023) is a heartfelt film about love, loss, and resilience. Angie and Pat, a 60-year-old couple, face the challenges of grief and acceptance when Pat suddenly passes away.
